There are a number of skyline view options in New York but we chose Summit One Vanderbilt due to its central position to view the Empire State Building, its immersive experience, wrap around terrace and glass ledges suspended 1100 feet over Madison Avenue.
Whilst the observatory is open 7 days a week from 8am to 10pm you should absolutely book tickets here via Summit One as entrance is timed and you need to book a slot that suits.
Costs for the standard tickets start from £35 / €41 / $43 per adult and £30 / €35 / $37 for children ages 6-12 (under 5 visit free). There are add on options such as cocktails and an even higher trip up the building via the world’s largest external glass-bottomed elevator!
Plan to spend at least two hours here as this gives you time to soak in the amazing views and enjoy the art installations and explore the multiple levels. Both day and night visits are spectacular and the city lights at night are something unique.
We highly recommend lunch or dinner at the nearby Vanderbilt Market which has a great range of food and drink options to chose from.
